Air Wisconsin Replaces United with American

American Airlines has signed a new five-year “capacity
purchase agreement” with Air Wisconsin Airlines, in which the latter has agreed
to provide up to 60 Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft for American Eagle regional
services, according to an Aug. 19 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange
Commission. 

As a result of the new agreement, “the capacity purchase
agreement currently in effect between Air Wisconsin and United Airlines, Inc.
is expected to terminate in accordance with its terms,” per the filing.

“Air Wisconsin’s fleet … will start to enter service no later
than March 2023,” wrote American vice chair and CFO and American Eagle
president Derek Kerr in a memo to staff, adding that most flights will focus on
connecting customers to American’s hub at Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
“Flights operated by Air Wisconsin are expected to be available for sale in the
next few months.”
