    [ad_1]

Harry Kane’s quickfire double helped Tottenham get back on track with a 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Wednesday. Kane scored in the 48th and 53rd minutes to change the momentum after a strong first half from Palace.

Goals from Matt Doherty and Son Heung-min extended the visitors’ advantage as they picked up their first victory since the Premier League resumed after the World Cup break. They had drawn at Brentford and lost at home to Aston Villa.

Kane’s two strikes brought his Tottenham total to 264, just two short of Jimmy Greaves’ club record, while his opener ended a run of 10 successive games in which Spurs conceded the first goal.

Fifth-place Tottenham moved five points clear of sixth-place Liverpool and two points behind both Newcastle and Manchester United, who are in third and fourth, respectively. United has a game in hand.

Palace’s first-half performance earned a round of applause from their fans as the players walked down the tunnel, but it was all undone within three minutes of the restart when Kane nodded in Ivan Perisic’s left-wing cross from close range.

Kane doubled his tally and Spurs’ lead when the ball fell to Bryan Gil on the right and he flicked a pass to the England captain, who took one touch and shot quickly to send a low strike into the bottom left corner.

Son’s cross inadvertently found its way to Doherty inside the area and the Ireland international made it 3-0 in the 68th minute when his low effort was too strong for goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.

It was not long before Son got on the scoresheet himself, beating Marc Guehi to Kane’s high ball and firing into the bottom corner via a deflection.

Spurs recorded their first clean sheet since October.

Hollywood hunk Bradley Cooper, 48, looked as handsome as ever while on a walk in New York City with his daughter, Lea, 5, on Jan. 4. The toddler looked adorable in a lavish pink dress, which she accessorized with on-trend pink Sherpa booties. Lea opted to wear her blonde tresses down, as they flowed behind her while she held her dad’s hand in the streets of the Big Apple. Bradley, for his part, rocked a mauve pink t-shirt, grey pants, and a black beanie while spending time with his little one on Wednesday. In addition, the 48-year-old carried his black jacket (which he removed), along with Lea’s leopard-print coat and pink backpack.

The father-and-daughter outing comes nearly one month after the two stepped out in NYC amid reconciliation speculation between Bradley and model Irina Shayk, 36. During the Dec. 13 outing, Lea wore a green winter coat complete with bright-red leggings. The Hangover actor adorably matched his daughter’s Philadelphia Eagles beanie while he also wore a blue puffer coat and grey jeans on the chilly afternoon stroll.

Bradley and Lea’s mom, Irina, spent the Thanksgiving holiday together and have been rumored to be reconciling their romance in recent months. “Bradley’s very protective of his privacy when it comes to Irina, so the fact that they’re being so public is very significant,” a source close to the duo told HollywoodLife on Nov. 9, 2022. “There’s been chatter about them getting back together for a while now, and everyone’s rooting for them because they’re a good match.”

The reconciliation rumors were magnified on Nov. 4, 2022, when the Russian model posted a sexy carousel of snapshots in a lingerie Halloween costume. Irina was sitting on a person’s lap, who people assumed was Bradley, however, he was disguised in a bear costume. “Bear with me,” she captioned the photos. “Bear’s hands lol,” one follower commented, noting the man’s hands on Irina. Then a fan popped into the comments section to share their hopes for Bradley and the brunette beauty to get back together. “I hope you and brad will back together was a great family with their daughter Lea,” they wrote.

Furthermore, on Nov. 28, 2022, a source told PEOPLE that Irina “hoped” to repair their relationship. “She never enjoyed being single,” the mag’s insider said at the time. “She always hoped they could find a way to make their relationship work again. Even though they always got along and co-parented well, their daughter is the happiest when they are all together.” The director and Irina have been linked to each other since 2015, about two years before they welcomed their beautiful daughter into their lives.

  • Glencore shareholders query coal plans

    Glencore shareholders query coal plans

    [ad_1]

Glencore investors have moved to force greater disclosure on its coal production plans, as the world’s most profitable miner of the fossil fuel faces questions over its climate impact.

A group of shareholders including Legal & General Investment Management and HSBC Asset Management has filed a resolution calling for detail on the matter, which will go to vote at Glencore’s annual meeting in May.

The resolution asks for “disclosure of how the company’s projected thermal coal production aligns with the Paris agreement’s objective . . . to limit the global temperature increase to 1.5C”, and requests information about capital expenditure on coal mines.

Glencore is the world’s most profitable listed miner of thermal coal. However, it has adopted climate targets that will eventually curb its coal operations.

Dror Elkayam, global ESG analyst at LGIM, which holds about 1.5 per cent of Glencore’s outstanding shares, said the resolution was important to help investors assess risk.

“We want to really be able to look under the hood, and evaluate how the company is positioned in the low-carbon environment,” said Elkayam. “We believe there is not sufficient evidence that Glencore’s thermal coal production plans are aligned with the goals of the Paris agreement,” he added.

Glencore’s coal division was extremely profitable last year — contributing $8.9bn to company earnings during the first half alone, and helping send shareholder returns to a record high.

As the energy crisis triggered by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine drove prices to record highs, Glencore’s coal business thrived because it produces the type of high-quality thermal coal used in European power stations.

But shareholders have raised questions over how the coal business fits in with its climate plans, which include goals to cut direct and indirect emissions by 50 per cent against 2019 levels by 2035.

Shareholders backing the new resolution have a collective $2.2tn under management and include LGIM, HSBC, Vision Super and the Swiss-based Ethos Foundation, representing pension funds Pensionskasse Post and Bernische Pensionskasse.

“It is so disappointing to see Glencore continuing to invest in thermal coal,” said Michael Wyrsch, chief investment officer at Vision Super, an Australian superannuation fund. He added that Glencore was also “well placed” with exposure to commodities that are key for the energy transition, such as copper and nickel.

Glencore expects to produce about 110mn tonnes of coal a year during the 2023-2025 period, similar to its level in 2022.

The company has said it will cap coal production at 150mn tonnes a year but has not laid out specific annual targets beyond 2025.

Concerns over Glencore’s coal production also flared up at its annual meeting last year, when nearly a quarter of shareholders voted against the company’s climate action plan.

That triggered a review, published in October, in which Glencore said it would publish more detail in its upcoming climate report in March.

Glencore’s direct and indirect emissions in 2021 amounted to 280mn tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent — a similar level to Spain’s.

The company has a near-term goal to cut its direct and indirect emissions by 15 per cent against 2019 levels by 2026 and reach net zero emissions by 2050.

“Glencore will publish its next Climate Progress Report in March, which will provide an update on our progress against our 2020 climate strategy,” the company said in a statement about the resolution, which was organised by the Australasian Centre for Corporate Responsibility and ShareAction, a UK charity.

Pregnant Witney Carson Reveals Sex of Baby No. 2: Details

    [ad_1]

Never known a love like this! Dancing With the Stars pro Witney Carson, who is expecting her second child with husband Carson McAllister, revealed the sex of her baby — and it looks like she’ll continue to be outnumbered at home.

“Our second blessing 🫶🏼🦋,” the dancer, 29, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, January 4, alongside a sweet beach video that revealed the words “It’s a boy” written in the sand.

Following the big announcement, Carson’s DWTS costars took to the comments section to share their excitement. “Can’t wait to meet you baby boy 😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️,” Lindsay Arnold, who is also pregnant, gushed, while Pasha Pashkov wrote, “Yay!!! ❤️❤️❤️.”

The Utah native revealed that she and McAllister, 29, were expecting their next bundle of joy during a November 2022 episode of the Disney+ dance competition series.

“I’m so excited to finally announce that Carson, Leo and myself are expecting baby No. 2,” Carson shared during the semifinal broadcast as partner Wayne Brady and her fellow costars hugged her. “I’m so blessed and this just felt like a really, really good time to share it. And I can finally share it! Which is great!”

The So You Think You Can Dance alum and the actor, who were high school sweethearts, tied the knot in January 2016 after getting engaged three months prior. In January 2021, the lovebirds welcomed son Leo via C-section — while Caron was dealing with contracting COVID-19. The mirror ball winner opened up to Us Weekly at the time about how scary the experience was for a first-time mom.

“I pushed for two and a half hours,” she exclusively told Us one month after giving birth. “I was fully dilated and the baby just did not want to come out. He just was, like, stuck underneath my pelvis for so long. His heart rate started going really high. So we had to do an emergency C-section and obviously, we did whatever was right for the baby.”

Carson referred to the ordeal as “traumatic,” explaining that she wasn’t “prepared” for the surgery that followed. “I had in my head that I was not going to do that at all,” the Emmy nominee said. “We’re just really happy that he’s healthy. That’s the most important thing.”

However, despite the complications, Carson shared that everything was worth it once she and her husband locked eyes with her little one, noting that the choreographer has been an incredible dad to Leo since the very beginning.

“Watching him be a father is, like, the most amazing thing because it’s just been us two for years,” she gushed to Us at the time. “It just melts your heart and you just love him that much more.”

  • Magic Eden to refund users after 25 fake NFTs sold due to exploit

Magic Eden to refund users after 25 fake NFTs sold due to exploit

    [ad_1]

Nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace Magic Eden has pledged to refund all users who were duped into purchasing fake NFTs on its website as a result of an exploit.

In a Jan. 4 statement, the company said a bug in its newly deployed “activity indexer” for its Snappy Marketplace and Pro Trade tools essentially allowed fake NFTs to skirt verification and get listed alongside genuine NFT collections.

Magic Eden said the exploit led to 25 fraudulent NFTs sold across four collections in the last 24 hours but is currently confirming whether additional NFTs were affected beyond the last day.

Two of the affected projects were the high-priced and popular Solana-based collections ABC and y00ts.

The NFT platform said it has rectified the issue by temporarily disabling both tools and eliminating the “entry points” that allowed unverified NFTs to get through.

It also asked users to perform a “hard refresh” to ensure the unverified listings no longer show up on their browser session and shut down the purchase of unverified NFTs as a precaution.

“Magic Eden is safe for trading and we will refund all the users who mistakenly bought unverified NFTs specifically due to this issue,” it wrote.

Magic Eden first raised the alarm over the fraudulent NFTs in a Twitter post on Jan. 4, citing community reports that people were able to buy fake ABC NFTs. At the time, it said it added “verification layers” in an attempt to resolve the issue.

After the announcement, Twitter users continued to sound the alarm on fake y00ts NFTs pervading the platform. A screenshot from ABC creator “HGE” showed at least two sales worth 100 Solana (SOL) each, a total amount of around $2,600.

DeGods, the creator of y00ts, also tweeted to its followers that there was an exploit on Magic Eden that allowed unverified NFTs to be listed as part of the collection.

The latest exploit is now the second incident that users of Magic Eden has had to go through this week.

On Jan. 3, the marketplace was littered with pornographic images and images from the television series The Big Bang Theory.

Magic Eden said a third-party image hosting provider was “compromised” leading to the “unsavory images” and assured users their NFTs were safe.
