Gambhir Smashes Babar as “Selfish”

[ad_1]

Former Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir preaches Babar Azam should try to clarify his priorities before heading to Pakistan’s remaining matches in the ongoing T20 World Cup in Australia. Babar, 28, has had a terrible time so far, both as a skipper and as a hitter.

His Pakistan team is nearing early elimination, but Babar’s racket form is far from great. In three games, Lahore-born Babar scored 0, 4, and 4 points as he scored 8 runs and averaged 2.67. This is a poor performance as a captain like Babar. The situation is unbearable for a player like Babar.

To lead successfully a team like Pakistan, he should perform as per his class in such an important ICC tournament. For him, this is a tough situation.

Gautam Gambhir, an Indian batsman who retired from all forms of cricket in December 2018, thought Pakistan should send Fakhar Zaman as a starting pitcher and suggested Babar not show “selfishness”.

“In my opinion, the first thing you think about is the team, not yourself. If nothing goes according to plan, Fakhar Zaman should be in the batting order.

Babar and Rizwan. It’s easy to start innings and set so many records for Pakistan. If you want to be the leader, you have to think about the team,” he added.

Babar Azam’s men then went to Craig Irvine’s Zimbabwe where they lost by one run at Perth Stadium.

Pakistan regained their winning ways by defeating Scott Edwards’ Dutch. Shadab Khan and Mohammad Rizwan crossed the finish line and started leading the men in green.

Pakistan’s next match will be against South Africa’s Themba He Babmas on Thursday 3 November at the legendary Sydney Cricket Ground. Their final Super 12 match will take place at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday 6 November against Shakib Al Hasan’s Bangladesh.
